Educated in West Virginia, Joseph Patrick (JoePat) Roop attended Nicholas County High School in Summersville and Marshall University in Huntington. While studying finance at Marshall, he was active with the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. Joseph Patrick Roop interned for three years with the Huntington-area offices of Merrill Lynch before earning his bachelor of science in 1996.
Subsequently, Joe Pat Roop secured employment as a registered representative with Prudential Financial in Charlotte, North Carolina. This marked the beginning of a career in financial management that spans roughly three decades and includes advisor positions with MassMutual, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo.
Since founding the firm in 2009, JoePat Roop has served as president of Belmont Capital Advisors in the Charlotte suburb of Belmont. Under his leadership, Belmont Capital Advisors provides diverse financial services in that range from estate planning to tax strategy. He also regularly appears at educational workshops and hosts the radio show and podcast Retire(meant) for Living.
